A news company in Basiland
Table of Contents
NewsNews (sometimes spelt ‘News News’) is Basiland’s most popular news company. It was created in late 2019 by the brothers Joshua News and Eric News (the name ‘NewsNews’ is an amalgamation of both of their surnames). Since then it has employed several more people and has its headquarters in NewsNews Place, Highphtha. Some notable members of NewsNews include Anne Finely, a presenter, Sad Steve, a traffic reporter and Orangutan Oliver, a weatherman.
Origins
When NewsNews originally started, the News brothers ran the company from their garage. Other news corporations such as ‘The Daily Basi’ existed at the time so nobody took notice of NewsNews. For several years, NewsNews struggled to break even and resorted to making up lies as its news team weren’t good at finding news. Unfortunately, this only worsened their reputation, so the brothers begged Baseman to help and agreed to sign a contract with the Basi government where they would publish “Government Approved News” for money. This funding helped them hire their first employees and open their first office in Rubble Street. Throughout the years, the news company began to buy smaller news companies in order to get rid of the competition.
Cow disaster
NewsNews’s first office building was destroyed 5 years after it was built when a herd of cows escaped the nearby zoo and ran through the building. This caused the news company to abruptly cease operations for almost a year as the company went through financial difficulty. However, with help from the Basi Government, the news company was able to reopen its headquarters in the specially built NewsNews Place, far away from wild animals in the heart of the city of Highphtha.
The Daily Basi
A couple of years after opening their new headquarters, NewsNews acquired its final competitor, The Daily Basi, making it the most popular news company in Basiland. The Daily Basi is responsible for reporting events that concern the Basis and Base citizens to Our World in the form of a newspaper whereas NewsNews broadcasts televised news within Basiland.
MyDigestiveSystem
Several years after running NewsNews, the News brothers decided to sell the company to MyDigestiveSystem (a major telecommunications company in Basiland) for 1.3 million BaseCoins, who now run the company.
Following this acquisition, Anne Finely also resigned from the company to work with Channel 5 Basiland, citing that she does not like MDS's working environment.
